CSIC Institute 717 Research Institute

The 717st Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation was founded in 1960 and is located in Wuhan China Optical Valley. Mainly engaged in research on optoelectronic detection technology based on engineering optics, focusing on laser technology and infrared technology, and research and development of large-scale special optoelectronic systems. The leading specialty involves photoelectric detection, precision machinery, information processing, automatic control, software engineering, system integration and In other related fields, it mainly undertakes the application basic research of optoelectronic technology and the R&D, design and production of large-scale and special optoelectronic systems. It is the main research center of defense backbone scientific research institutions and military optoelectronic technology.

717 is a member unit of Wuhan Optoelectronics National Laboratory, the chairman unit of Hubei Optical Society, the deputy director of the Infrared Technology Committee of China Optical Society, and the chairman of the Chinese Navigation Society Astronomical-Inertial Professional Committee. It is the editor of China's science and technology core journal "Optical and Photoelectric Technology". It has international-level key laboratories such as applied optics, photoelectric detection, infrared technology, laser technology, astronomical navigation and photoelectric system, and has CAD center, measurement and testing center, environmental testing center and CNC precision processing base. It has national-level academic leaders in China, such as photoelectric detection, astronomical navigation, photoelectric countermeasures, and photoelectric system integration, and a group of provincial and ministerial-level academic leaders.

After four decades of hard work, 717 has become a research institute of optoelectronic technology with strong technical strength, advanced research facilities, supporting discipline construction and active academic exchanges. In 1998, it passed the national military standard 9001 quality system certification; in 2004, it passed the first-class confidentiality certification of national defense weapons and equipment. There are more than 900 employees in July 17th, including more than 600 researchers, senior engineers and engineers. They have China's potential base photoelectric detection, astronomical navigation, photovoltaic system integration technology and photoelectric countermeasure system.

The leader of the family level has a group of provincial and ministerial discipline leaders such as opto-mechatronics, image processing, information processing, and control engineering. Since its establishment, there have been more than 160 scientific research achievements and national patent registrations at the national, provincial and ministerial levels, including the National Science and Technology Progress Award. 717 has a world-class multi-band infrared detection experiment and detection system, domestic first-class photoelectric technology research laboratory, optical film system research base and astronomical navigation, photoelectric countermeasures, submersible photovoltaic system and marine photoelectric system Such key laboratories; CAD center, metrology and testing center, environmental testing center and influential CNC precision machining base in Central China.

The staff of 717 have superior working, studying and living environment conditions. On the shores of the East Lake, two magnificent scientific research buildings have risen up; on the side of “Optical Valley”, the beautiful home villages and single apartments have a unique style; the employee training mechanism has been established to highlight the “people-oriented” principle; And welfare benefits are well-known in Central China.

The six research institutes such as 701, 709, 712, 717, 719, and 722 in Wuhan are the first units of the Hubei Provincial Industrial and Commercial System to carry out educational activities to maintain the advanced nature of party members. For example, some units have organized a speech contest entitled "The Communist Party Members Around Me" among all party members. Some have carried out the party's knowledge quiz and the labor competition activities on the theme of "I add glory to the banner of the party, dedication and dedication". Some members wear badges to work on the posts, party members volunteer to work for 2 hours, and party members conduct voluntary labor once a week to reflect the advanced nature of party members. Some require middle-level leading cadres to read more than 20,000 words, and general party members must reach 10,000 words. Some proposed to the party members the "five-lead" requirements for learning and reforming: taking the lead in observing labor discipline, taking the lead in volunteer work, taking the lead in improving the image of party members, taking the lead in building harmonious units, and taking the lead in completing tasks.
