PLA 70th Army
The predecessor of the 70th Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army was the 14th Column of the North China Military Region. The column was developed by some armed forces belonging to the Southern Jilin Military Region. In April 1938, the Southern Hebei Military Region was established under the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army. In June 1940, the troops were reorganized, governing the new 4th, 7th, 8th, 9th Brigade and several military divisions. In 1942, the newly organized 4th, 7th, 8th, and 9th brigade organizations were merged into the 6th, 3rd, and 4th Army divisions. In October 1943, the Eighth Route Army Headquarters directly under the Ji'nan Military Region. On May 11, 1944, the Southern Hebei Military Region merged into the Jiluyu Military Region. In October 1945, the Southern Hebei Military Region was formed under the Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu Military Region.
In May 1948, according to the instructions of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, the Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu Military Region formed the 14th column of troops belonging to the Southern Jilin Military Region. Wei Jie served as commander, Shi Zhiben as deputy commander, and Gao Houliang as chief of staff. The 6th, 7th and 8th Regiments of the Military Region formed the 41st Brigade, which consisted of the 4th, 5th and 9th Regiments of the Original Southern Military Region to form the 42nd Brigade. The establishment of the Luyu Military Region. In the same month, the Jinchaji Military Region and the Jinjiluyu Military Region merged to form the North China Military Region, and the 14th column was affiliated to the first regiment of the North China Military Region. In June, participated in the Anyang Chonggu battle.
In July, the 14th Column was returned to the North China Military Region. Except for the original leader of the Column, Gan Weihan was appointed as political commissar, Gan Sihe was appointed as deputy political commissar and director of the political department.

The 41st Brigade under its jurisdiction was renamed the 209th Division, Cao Yuqing was the divisional commander, Ding Xianguo was the political commissar, the 42nd Brigade was renamed the 210th Division, Huang Guangxia was the divisional division, and Zhang Xicai was the political division. There were more than 11,000 people in the army.
In November, the 70th Army was revoked, and the 210th Division under its jurisdiction was transferred to the 67th Army and renamed the 201st Division. The 209th Division was reorganized as the Independent 207th Division of the North China Military Region. In December, the 207th Division was incorporated into the Special Forces Command of the North China Military Region.
