144th Division
The 144th Division is reported to have conducted a sea-crossing and landing exercise on or about 25 August 2002 somewhere in the South China Sea. Division engineers were used to clear potential landing zones prior to assaults by combat units. [Guangzhou MR Zhanshi Bao 14 Sep 2002 (PLA Activities Report Sep 2002)]
As of 2007, this unit appears to be inactive.
