19th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade

The 19th Guards Nikolaev-Budapest Red Banner Order of Suvorov is a separate mechanized brigade - one of the largest units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. Since 1992 the unit has been a part of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. In 1993, it was reorganized into the 19th Guards Armament and Equipment Storage Base. And in 2008 it was renamed the 19th Guards Separate Mechanized Brigade, based in Zaslonovo (ru:), a few kilometers east of Lepiel.

On 10 September 2016, the 19th separate Guards Nikolaev-Budapest Red Banner, Order of Suvorov II degree mechanized brigade will celebrate the 75th anniversary of its foundation. In the Armed Forces of Belarus, perhaps, there is no more illustrious unit that has passed a thorny military path from Stalingrad to Budapest. The guards meet the holiday "in the fields". However, this does not spoil the festive atmosphere prevailing in the compound, on the contrary, it reflects loyalty to the glorious traditions of the combat brigade, its glorious past as well as possible.

“On the eve of this significant event for us, we are purposefully preparing for the command post exercise of the Armed Forces,” noted Colonel Andrei Latyshev, commander of the 19th Ombr of the Guard. - By the forces of the personnel, the deployment area has already been equipped, the units are fully prepared to perform tasks as intended. The guardsmen are in high spirits on the eve of the anniversary of the military unit, despite the field exit, our holiday will be memorable and will be held in a solemn atmosphere.

Guards Colonel Andrei Latyshev was relatively new head of the brigade, but had already managed to gain enviable authority among his subordinates. He was born on the territory of Germany, brought up in the family of a military man. I did not think about choosing a profession for a single moment - only military uniform, only shoulder straps! .. And the young man, in his father's footsteps, entered the Blagoveshchensk Higher Tank Command School named after Marshal of the Soviet Union KA Meretskov. During his service, he passed an impressive career path from platoon commander to brigade commander.

According to the officer, the brigade has undergone significant changes over the past few years. High-quality repairs were made to the barracks, the checkpoint, the dining room and other facilities. At the present time, repairs are being completed at the club of the military unit. And one more thing: it is definitely worth mentioning a pedestal erected at the brigade's checkpoint with a T-72 tank on it. Recently, at the base of the brigade, a gathering began with reserve servicemen called up to participate in the upcoming exercise. More than three hundred people are involved in the collection. For several weeks, reserve servicemen will improve and restore previously acquired skills and abilities in their military registration specialties.

During the active phase of the command and control squadron, the brigade operated on two training grounds simultaneously. Serious tasks will be assigned to the servicemen, the conditions will be as close as possible to combat ones. And here we will mention the KSHU with the brigade that took place in April - then the command of the North-Western Operational Command highly appreciated the actions of the soldiers-guards.

As the deputy commander of the brigade for ideological work - head of the department of ideological work of the guard, Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Glinsky, emphasized in the conversation, a wide range of educational and patriotic events is held here. “On behalf of the command, I want to note: we are trying to create such conditions for servicemen so that they perform their duties conscientiously and with dignity,” Lieutenant Colonel Glinsky shared to the guard. - Preparation for the upcoming exercise is the best proof of this. In the camp, the servicemen have everything they need: hot water, three meals a day ... It is possible to view and listen to TV and radio broadcasts using a mobile information center. In addition, the Gvardeets brigade newspaper is published daily, it promptly reflects current events in the brigade's life.

Dmitry Alexandrovich also spoke about the work of the Guardsmen with the younger generation. More than four hundred children have visited the military sports camp at the brigade base this summer. Various activities were conducted with them, the children got acquainted with small arms and military equipment. The personnel of the 19th Ombr actively cooperates with all educational institutions of the Novopolotsk, Lepel, Ushach, Chashniki and Dokshitsa regions.

The brigade pays special attention to the health of servicemen. At each field exit, a medrota is moved to the area of study. The head of the medical service of the 19th Ombr of the Guard, Major Olga Gimro, and her assistant, the senior nurse of the Guard, Sergeant Major of the contract service, Natalya Dyatko, willingly spoke about their service. “Our main duty is to ensure the maximum in the safety of the health of servicemen,” said Major Olga Gimro to the guard. - At any time, we are obliged to provide pre-medical and medical medical care in the amount that is possible in a field exit.

"We have strong guys with good immunity - and therefore they rarely turn to us for medical care, which we are happy about," the guard foreman Natalya Dyatko continued the conversation. "Of course, everything depends on the attitude of the servicemen themselves to their health, the desire to preserve it. The number of patients, I will explain, is also influenced by weather conditions. Now is the off-season period - an especially insidious time of the year, when it is warm and warm during the day, and at night the temperature drops quite low.

Another of the responsible tasks of the staff of the field medical station is to check the quality of food. As senior warrant officer Valentina Alekseeva noted to the Guard, the servicemen simply cannot eat food without preliminary examination. “At the moment, there are more than 300 people on allowance,” Senior Warrant Officer Valentina Alekseeva explained to the Guard. - Our guardsmen are “fighting in the fields”, and we are “fighting” here, in the kitchen ... It's not so easy to have time and to prepare everything, but we can do it.

Celebrating the day of a military unit in the field is not a novelty for guardsmen. The command of the SZOK and the 19th Ombr will congratulate the personnel at the training ground, and at the end of the KSHU, the brigade club will host a solemn rewarding of distinguished servicemen.
