AS-9 Canopus

Canopus was the former merchant Santa Leonora built by New York Shipbuilding Co, Camden NJ in 1919 under USSB contract; acquired by the US Navy in November 1921 and commissioned as a submarine tender in January 1922. She was scuttled in Bataan, 10 April 1942 to prevent capture by the Japanese.
