AM-82 / PC 1586 Adroit
This class of ocean going minesweeper were designed and built as minesweepers for the US Navy. Built between 1941-43, every ship of the class was redesignated as submarine chases (PC 1586-1603) on 1 June 1944. All went into reserve following World War II and one is known to have served during the Korean War. Most were transferred to the Maritime Commission for disposal in 1946.
As subchasers they were outfitted with additional armament of 5 - 20mm guns, 2 depth charge throwers, and 2 depth charge projectors.
