M53 155mm Self-Propelled Gun (T97)
The M53 155mm Self-Propelled Gun was largely deployed in NATO areas and its ammunition was commonly used throughout NATO forces. Nearly all M53's were converted to the 8' M55 standard by the middle of the 1960s. It was extensively used during the Vietnam era, and subsequently withdrawn from service in the US military. Vehicles of this type remain in service in the militaries of some other countries.
