Rotary Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE)

Current as of August 2003. Note that aircraft carry only one AN/APR-39 system at a time. In addition, very few aircraft use the AN/APR-44 system. In 1991, the Army awarded a contract to develop the AN/ALQ-212(V) ATIRCM (Advanced Threat IRCM) and the associated AN/AAR-57(V) Common Missile Warning System (CMWS)to Lockheed Sanders (now BAE Systems). As of 2002 plans called for ATIRCM production for over 1,000 Army helicopters, with MH-60K and MH-47E Special Operations helicopters being the first platforms to get ATIRCM, then Apaches, and later the UH-60(X), EH-60, and CH-47D. ATIRCM was awarded low-rate initial production (LRIP) in November 2003, and in April 2004 CECOM contracted for more production systems.
