- Energy Secretary Announces Completion of W62 Dismantlement Program National Nuclear Security Administration 12 Aug 2010 -- Secretary of Energy Steven Chu announced that the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has dismantled the last W62 nuclear warhead. Secretary Chu made the announcement after personally participating in the final W62 dismantlement during an August 11, 2010 visit to NNSA’s Pantex Plant outside Amarillo, Texas.
- W62 Dismantlement Fact Sheet National Nuclear Security Administration 12 Aug 2010 -- The W62 warhead was designed by Lawrence Livermore and Sandia National Laboratories. It was first deployed in the 1970’s and retired from service on 19 Mar 2010. While the actual production numbers in the stockpile are classified, the W62 played a significant role in the U.S. nuclear deterrent.

- Boeing Subsidiary Tapestry Wins $79 Million US Army Logistics Support Contract Boeing 12 Aug 2010 -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Tapestry Solutions has received a contract to provide field engineering services in support of development, operations and training for the U.S. Army’s Battle Command Sustainment Support System (BCS3) Total Logistics Support program. The three-year contract, valued at up to $79 million, was awarded to Tapestry by prime contractor Raytheon Network Centric Systems of Fort Wayne, Ind.

- CACI Awarded Prime Position on $49 Million Program With Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane CACI 12 Aug 2010 -- CACI International Inc (NYSE:CACI) announced today that it has been awarded one of six prime positions covering all fourteen requirement areas included in a new program supporting the U.S. Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane (NSWC Crane). The multiple award, five-year Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) has a potential value of $49 million. The BOA calls for CACI to provide wide ranging support for basic science and/or engineering research and development work at the Navy facility located in Crane, Indiana. - Lockheed Martin Receives Contract from Naval Air Systems Command to Support Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System Lockheed Martin 12 Aug 2010 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has been awarded a contract from the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) to continue software development to sustain the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TTWCS). TTWCS is a system that integrates the launch hardware and software to provide weapon control for variants of the Tomahawk Land Attack Missile. The initial contract value is $16.6 million, and the total contract value could reach $50.7 million if all four option years are exercised.
