The shrapnel from the mortar blast is still in there, but it doesn't deter her from returning to work or continuing her daily routine.
  • 3rd ID DCG, CP North prepare for responsible drawdown of forces Army News 12 Aug 2010 -- The Task Force Marne Command Post-North, is transitioning to stability operations by moving personnel to supplement the redeployment of Soldiers in crucial positions. CP-North will redeploy numerous Soldiers early, including Sgt. Lani Melendez and Spc. Hector Ramos who are knowledgeable on the communication systems and technology utilized in the operations office. To combat this, the Ops Office will rely heavily on their experienced noncommissioned officers who will train Soldiers from other CP-North offices to ensure operations keep running smoothly.
  • Improved security means more time training inside wire Army News 12 Aug 2010 -- "It's hard to fight complacency when you're just waiting around," admitted Sgt. 1st Class Elias Munoz as he and two of his Soldiers attempted to hook up cable for television in a room set aside for U.S. Soldiers here.
