  • Boeing to Offer NewGen Tanker to US Air Force Boeing 04 Mar 2010 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] today announced that it will offer the Boeing NewGen Tanker in the competition to supply the U.S. Air Force with a multi-mission aerial refueling aircraft that will meet all the warfighter’s mission requirements for the next several decades.
  • Boeing Awards Harpoon Launch Structure Contract to Danish Aerotech Boeing 04 Mar 2010 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] today announced that it has awarded a contract valued at nearly $1.5 million to civil defense and aerospace company Danish Aerotech A/S to provide the Aluminum Launch Support Structure (ALSS) for ship-based deployment of the Harpoon weapon system.
  • Building on five years of success, Her Majesty's Armed Forces extend partnering agreement with Rheinmetall Rheinmetall Defence 04 Mar 2010 -- Rheinmetall AG and Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S), the UK's defence procurement organisation, have agreed to extend their successful cooperation in the field of ammunition, which began in 2005, for another five years, with an option for a further two years. The radar systems will be integrated into the U.S. Navy’s new E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft.
  • First Flight For Canada’s New Airlifter Lockheed Martin 04 Mar 2010 -- The first Lockheed Martin [NYSE:LMT] CC-130J Super Hercules for Canada completed its first flight, March 3, 2010. The aircraft is the first of 17 CC-130Js and will be delivered in summer 2010. Deliveries will be completed through 2012. The CC-130J Super Hercules will give Canada increased airlift capability with an aircraft that has greater range, power and reliability over previous C-130 models. Canada is one of 12 countries that have now ordered the Super Hercules, in demand worldwide thanks to its mission flexibility and capability.
