  • ATK Receives Initial $10 Million Contract to Prepare to Supply USEC With Composite Tubes for Uranium Enrichment Operations ATK 20 Sep 2006 -- Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) is performing work under an initial $10 million contract to prepare for high-volume manufacturing of composite rotor tubes for USEC Inc.'s (NYSE: USU) American Centrifuge program. ATK expects to provide USEC with approximately 12,000 rotor tubes throughout the four-year production run, making this program the largest commercial composite production program in ATK's history. When completed, ATK estimates that total revenue from the program may exceed $250 million.
  • BAE Systems Delivers 2,000th Common Digital Transponder BAE Systems 20 Sep 2006 -- BAE Systems recently delivered its 2,000th Common Identification Friend or Foe Digital Transponder, a system that identifies aircraft and ships as belonging to friendly or neutral forces. Commonly known as the Common Transponder, the AN/APX-118 is an identification friend or foe digital transponder that replaces outdated technology with digital technology to improve the reliability and maintainability of aging MK XII IFF systems.
