- BAE Systems Completes Qualification of New Thermal Weapon Sight, Receives Additional Production Contract BAE Systems 10 May 2006 -- BAE Systems has completed U.S. Army qualification of the next-generation family of light, medium, and heavy thermal weapon sights (TWS) and has received additional base and option production contract modifications valued at $73 million. The modifications bring the total current contract value to $200 million.
- BAE Systems statement regarding Babcock international Group PLC BAE Systems 10 May 2006 -- On 23 March 2006, BAE Systems and VT Group plc announced that they were engaged in exploratory discussions with respect to a potential joint acquisition of Babcock. These discussions have now ceased. Accordingly, BAE Systems confirms that it has no present intention of making an offer for Babcock*.

The two-day intensive technical review took place with the U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Center, which oversees the contract on behalf of the Taiwan air force, the end-user.
- Raytheon Awarded $61 Million Contract to Support NOAA's R&D High Performance Computing System Raytheon 10 May 2006 -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) research and development (R&D) high performance computing system contract to maintain, operate and upgrade high performance computing platforms. The contract award is valued at $61 million; the total ceiling value, inclusive of all options, is $368 million during the next eight years.

- Orbital Awarded Contract By U.S. Air Force To Define Hybrid Launch Vehicle Architectures Orbital Sciences Corp. 10 May 2006 -- Orbital Sciences Corporation (NYSE: ORB) announced today that it has been awarded a research and development contract by the U.S. Air Force for the Hybrid Launch Vehicle (HLV) Studies and Analysis Program. Under this new contract, Orbital will develop operationally responsive space launch designs that combine a reusable first stage with various types of expendable upper stages.
- Delivery of first MILIS Thermal Sights co-produced by Theon Sensors and Sagem Défense Sécurité Sagem (Safran group) 10 May 2006 -- On March 23, 2006, the first batch of the MILIS (Milan Lightweight Infrared System) thermal sights was accepted by the Hellenic Army. These sights are manufactured in Greece by the local company Theon Sensors S.A. (Koropi, Greece) as part of the contract signed with Sagem Défense Sécurité (SAFRAN Group) for the coproduction of 147 thermal sights which are going to be used for the upgrade of the MILAN anti-tank system of the Hellenic Army. The ceremony occurred with the presence of representatives of Euromissile and Sagem Défense Sécurité.
