- Iraq: Relatives Of Slain Drivers Say Foreign Fighters, Radical Clerics Have Upper Hand In Al-Fallujah RFE/RL 22 Jun 2004 -- Relatives of six Iraqi truck drivers abducted earlier this month in Al-Fallujah accuse foreign fighters and Muslim radicals of torturing and then killing their loved ones. They say local Iraqi police and Iraqi troops based in the town did nothing to stop the killings.

- Iran: Seizure Of British Patrol Boats, Crews Raising Tensions RFE/RL 22 Jun 2004 -- Iran has seized three small British patrol boats and their eight crew members near its border with Iraq. Tehran says the boats entered its waters illegally, but Britain says they were in the area on a routine mission to train Iraqi police. There is no indication yet of whether or when the British boats and crew will be released.

- GE LM2500 Gas Turbine to Power Royal Australian Navy's Nuship Ballarat ANZAC Frigate GE Marine 22 Jun 2004 -- GE Marine reported that its LM2500 aeroderivative gas turbine will power the Royal Australian Navy's (RAN) eighth ANZAC-class frigate, Nuship Ballarat. The frigate was recently delivered to the RAN during a ceremony in Williamstown, Melbourne, Australia.
- Czech Republic Selects Raytheon-Lockheed Martin Javelin to Outfit Army Lockheed Martin 22 Jun 2004 -- The Czech Republic signed a Letter of Agreement (LOA) in April with the U.S. government to provide the Javelin weapon system to its army resulting in a contract award to the Raytheon-Lockheed Martin Javelin Joint Venture. The Czech sale represents one of nine international customers that have selected Javelin during the past two years. Proven in recent combat operations, Javelin proved highly effective against engagements of enemy tanks, armored personnel carriers, bunkers and fortifications by U.S. Army, Marines and Australian Army commandos.
