New Delhi, June 22, IRNA -- India and Pakistan on Monday reviewed the progress in all aspects of bilateral relations including Jammu & Kashmir, and implementation of the framework for the dialogue process worked out in February by the foreign secretaries of the two countries. India`s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesman Navtej Sarna told reporters here Monday evening that during the working lunch in China with Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, Indian External Affairs Minister K. Natwar Singh had a warm and productive meeting. During this first direct meeting following several telephone conversations, Kasuri and Singh assessed positively the progress in the discussions held, including at the meetings between Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers, the Narcotics Control Authorities of the two countries, and the Expert Level dialogue on Nuclear CBMs. In their first high-level direct political contact after the new government took over in India under the leadership of Manmohan Singh, the Indian and Pakistani foreign ministers welcomed the agreement worked out in the meeting, which concluded Sunday in New Delhi, to establish and upgrade communications, and work for specific CBMs, including through an agreement on advance notification of missile tests. India and Pakistan have also called for regular working level meetings to be held among all the nuclear powers to discuss issues of common concern, Sarna said. They reiterated that they looked forward to the meeting of the foreign secretaries scheduled for June 27-28, and to concrete outcomes from that meeting so as to take forward the present process, Sarna added. The two ministers agreed to remain in regular touch and provide continuous political guidance to the ongoing process. They expect to meet each other on several occasions over the next two months. Indian External Affairs Minister K. Natwar Singh is currently in China to attend the third Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) meeting. He has met Monday morning the foreign ministers of China, Singapore, Republic of Korea and Indonesia, Sarna said, adding Monday afternoon Singh called on the prime minister of Thailand and Monday evening spoke to the foreign ministers of Japan, Kazakhstan and Oman taking advantage of the margins of the multilateral meeting. 2160/2321/1432
