Naval Regional Contracting Center London (NRCC London)
NRCC Det London, located in London, England, is one of the most varied of the Navy's field contracting offices. Like its sibling detachments at Naples and Bahrain, London provides Fleet support and services, as well as base support. However, these missions, while providing critical support to the area of responsibility, barely scratch the surface of the impact NRCC Det London has to the DoD and the Navy.
London's largest mission is support of spares procurements for the Defense Logistics Agency, Naval Inventory Control Points and ships from manufacturers located in Northern Europe. Additionally, the office procures a vast range of supplies and services ranging from R & D to shipyard maintenance for a diverse mix of customers, including stateside systems commands, research labs, and intelligence offices. To meet this array of procurement needs, NRCC Det London has established teams to partner closely with customers to develop best practice procurement processes that bring the best support to our customers.
The Northern European Shore Support Team of NRCC Detachment London supports all customers that are not directly supported by the Spares or Fleet Teams. Customers are broadly classified: (1) Base support (U.S. Navy and Army commands in the United Kingdom and Iceland), or (2) R&D and systems (Office of Naval Research, Office of Naval Intelligence, Army Research and Development, and the Navy's System Commands). Supplies and services provided include: vessel maintenance, database support, R&D, scientific studies, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technology, and the wide range of requirements to overseas commands and installations. This team includes acquisition professionals employing the latitude and discretion provided by recent acquisition reform - e.g. oral presentations, market research, commercial item acquisitions, past performance assessments and best value source selections - to assure smarter, faster, and cheaper outcomes for its customers.
The Spares Team of NRCC Detachment London is the authorized procurer of spare parts for the U.S. Navy / DoD from vendors located in the United Kingdom and Northern Europe. The majority of business is procuring parts for the AV8B aircraft, aircraft ejection seats, and miscellaneous spare parts for U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps vessels.
