Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Seven
Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Seven is one of the Naval Reserve Force Commands in the United States Navy. The Command is a unique blend of active duty and Selected Reserve(SELRES) personnel. EODMU7 is responsible for training and deployment of SELRES to provide EOD service in support of coastal/harbor defense, MCM diving, demolition operations, underwater sonar search, mobile comms, and underwater/surface ordnance clearance.
The mission of EODMU7 is to provide a ready force available for mobilization to COMEODGRU ONE (Commander Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One) with technically and operationally qualified SELRES (Selected Reservists) for deployment in support of Harbor Defense, underwater & surface ordnance clearance, sonar search, and mobile communications.
A Typical Reserve Weekend and two weeks of Annual Training with EODMU7 consists of a whirlwind of activities ranging from open-ocean diving operations, ordnance response exercises, field deployment exercises, demolition training, small arms qualification, small boat handling, and other associated skills.
