Second Naval Construction Brigade
In August 2002, the 2nd Naval Construction Brigade was decomissioned. The 2nd Naval Construction Brigade was the Atlantic Fleet's military construction force. It provided the Navy, Marine Corps, Unified Commanders in Chief, and other command authorities with rapid contingency response, quality construction, disaster recovery support, and humanitarian assistance.
It accomplished this through expeditionary units that are highly trained, rapidly deployable, interoperable, self-sustaining, and capable of conducting defensive military operations.
