In early 1999 the Combat Equipment Base-Northeast Asia was renamed Combat Equipment Battalion-Northeast Asia (CEB-NEA) and realigned to report directly to US Army War Reserve Support Command (AWRSPTCMD)] instead of reporting to the Combat Equipment Group-Asia (CEG-A).
