4th Legal Support Organization (Mobilization)

The 4th Legal Support Organization (Mobilization) was formed in 1959 as one of the dedicated legal services units unique to the Army Reserve. Originally located in Greenwich Village, the 4th was New York City's only "all legal" reserve unit for many years. They were promptly dubbed the "professionals of choice" by the local military community.

In the early 1960's the 4th moved to West 44th Street in Manhattan, and soon after to the Robert P. Patterson USAR Center in the Bronx where they remained until September 1999. The unit's new location is now at the SGT Joseph E. Muller USAR Center in the Bronx.

Soldiers from the 4th LSO served in Operation Desert Storm in 1991, and in 1996 the 4th became deployed more soldiers in support of Operation Joint Endeavor than any other JAG unit in the US Army Reserve. Upon their redeployment from Bosnia, Hungary, Germany and Belgium, the dedicated men and women of the 4th LSO eagerly resumed their mission of providing top notch legal services to the soldiers of the 77th RSC.
