40th Finance Battalion

The 40th Finance Battalion has Finance Teams that can support thousands of soldiers and units with pay and financial assistance.

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 17 August 1994, consisting of a shield blazoned: Per fess wavy (in the manner of a Taeguk) Gules and Azure, a stylized arrowhead voided Sable enclosing a lozenge fesswise Or, a canton of the third bearing a bear's head caboshed of the fourth. Silver gray and golden yellow are the colors traditionally associated with the Finance Corps. Gold also symbolizes honor and high achievement; red, valor; blue, loyalty; and black, solvency and strength. The wavy red and blue field alludes to the Taeguk of Korea and highlights the Korean War campaign participation credits and decorations. The two concentric arrowheads represent the organization's World War II assault landings in the Philippines. The gold diamond is adapted from the Finance Corps insignia of branch and underscores the unit's mission. The golden bear reflects the motto.
