34th Infantry Division Artillery (DIVARTY)
The mission of Battery E 151st Field Artillery is Target Acquisition. The unit is tasked with locating enemy Rocket, Artillery, and Mortars using the FIREFINDER Radar. The unit deployed to Bosnia from September 1996 to April 1997 where two of the unit's FIREFINDERS tracked over 10,000 Radar acquisitions, most of which were determined to be small arms. In 1998, members of the unit traveled to Norway, Bosnia, and all over the United States for training and support missions. The unit also deployed to Kosovo at Camp Bondsteel and Camp Monteith as the first National Guard Combat Arms unit deployed to Kosovo.
Battery F, 151st Field Artillery has a general support mission, which means its combat missions are all "on order" and that the battery is not assigned to support a specific unit. It is a 34th Division Artillery asset and it will initially field the M109 self-propelled 155 mm howitzer, though the unit could possiblyeventually become a MLRS unit.
