320th Corps Support Battalion

Citizen soldiers from Irvine, California's 320th Corps Support Battalion spent two weeks simulating a war on the ranges at Camp Roberts during 2001. Their mission during exercise "Operation Golden Spike" is to provide support to units in the field by providing security, petroleum, water, and portable showers. A combat unit requires a lot of support in the field. Reservists from the 320th have the less glamorous, but vitally important job of providing support in the field. They do operations and any kind of administrative paperwork that goes along with that, such as tracking all the soldiers out in the field, casualties, prisoners of war and notification of death.
