3rd Battalion (Training Support) (Armor), 395th Regiment
3rd Battalion (Training Support) (Armor), 395th Regiment provided training support and assistance to priority Armor and Cavalry units, (and to traditional Armor and Cavalry units as time and resources permit), in order to enhance their combat readiness. On order, the Battalion could also provide mobilization assistance to Army National Guard units as directed.
On 17 October 1999, the 3rd Battalion, 395th Regiment was reactivated as an armor training support battalion. Along with its sister battalions, the 1st Battalion (Engineer) and 2nd Battalion (Field Artillery), the 3rd Battalion fulfilled its critical mission of training citizen soldiers in Army National Guard armor and infantry battalions across a 3 state region.
With the decision in the mid-2000s to again restructure training support units, the 1st Battalion, 395th Regiment was reassigned from the 2nd Brigade, 75th Division (Training Support) to the 479th Field Artillery Brigade (Training Support).
