128th Forward Support Battalion

The mission of the 12th Forward SUpport Battalion is to provide logistic support for the 2nd Brigade, 28th Infantry Division (Mechanized). The Forward Support Battalion is comprised of three company-sized units and a command and control headquarters. Company A is a supply unit that provides fuel, food and transportation assets to the 2nd Brigade elements. Company B is a maintenance company that provides direct maintenance support for equipment in 2nd Brigade, which includes wheeled vehicles and tanks. Company C is a medical company that provides medical treatment to the soldiers in 2nd Brigade.

Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment (HHD) is the command and control element for the Battalion. The HHD coordinates training for the units, synchronizes transportation, supply, maintenance and medical operations. HHD also has a unit ministry team consisting of the Chaplain and his assistant to provide spiritual fitness for the soldiers of the Battalion. HHD employs 48 soldiers with a variety of occupations such as typists, cooks and radio operators.

Company A is the "Beans and Bullets" of the Battalion for 2nd Brigade. This company provides food, fuel, and ammunition for the soldiers of 2nd Brigade. Additional supplies provided include maps, clothing, tentage, and barrier material. Occupations found in Company A include fuel handlers, ammunition specialists, forklift operators and warehouse clerks. Company A employs 60+ soldiers.

Company B is the Maintenance Support of the Battalion for 2nd Brigade. Company B fixes everything from trucks to high-speed laser rangefinders. Company B is the largest company in the Battalion. It has several sections employing well over 250 soldiers in jobs such as diesel mechanics, track repair, electronic specialists and radio repairers.

Company C is the Medical Support of the Battalion for 2nd Brigade. Company C provides advanced trauma life support for injured soldiers. Ambulances are available on a moment's notice to treat and evacuate soldiers to the rear operations area for additional treatment and/or recovery. Company C employs 70+ soldiers in the medical field such as medics complemented by a professional staff of physician assistants, surgeons and dentists. Their equipment includes wheeled and track ambulances and medical equipment such as X-ray, lab and dental treatment equipment.
