A Battery, 1-30 FA - Fire Support & Combined Arms Operations Dept

The mission of the Fire Support and Combined Arms Operations Department is to provide instruction on:

  • Combined arms teams organization and tacitcal employment;
  • Principles and application of Fire Support TTP (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures): platoon - brigade;
  • Targeting process doctrine and TTP;
  • TTP for employment of FA radards and counterfire operations;
  • battlefield automation principles and pllications: battalion - corps;
  • Tactical communications

The Fire Support and COmbined Arms Operations Department serves as a proponent for:

  • Joint and combined fire support;
  • Fire support for brigade level and below;
  • Targeting and counterfire;
  • Meteorology;
  • Automated Tactical Command, Control, and Communications.

The Tactical Communications Branch of the Command, Control, and Communications Division, trains more than 5,000 Fireld Artilley Officer, NCO, and AIT students on Tactical Communications consisting of SINCGARS, Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE), and COMSEC devices along with basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance procedures. It provides COMSEC support to Training COmmand and MSE support to III ACA as requested.

The mission of the Fire Support Automation Branch of the Command, Control, and Communications Division, is to train the total force on the latest versions of Automated Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems (AFADRS). It assists with the fire support automation program of instruction (POI) development, and acts as members of doctrine writing working groups with regards to fire support automation.

The mission of the Target Acquisition Division is to train Advanced Individual Training (AIT) students (both Army and Marine Corps), Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC) sutdents and Warrand Officer Advanced Course students.

The Fire Support Division (FSD) conducts training for US and Allied officers in the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course and the Field Artillery Officer Advanced Course. Sergeants in FSD train the Field Artillery Forward Observer Course (MOS 13F10) to enlisted soldiers in both the Active Army and National Guard.

The mission of the Operations Division is to schedule courses, provide instructional support, budget, manpower, supply, administrative support, and coordinate Training Development and instruction.
