Bora J-600T Yildirim
The J-600T Yildirim [Lightning], which is essentially a Turkish copy of the Chinese ballistic missile B-611. The Bora ["Storm"] Weapon System Project is the third phase of the joint missile production project Turkey signed with China in 2009. The B-611M was exhibited at the 9th Zhuhai Airshow in China in 2012. Turkey in 1997 signed the Missile Technology Control Regime. This regime controls the export and import procedures of the materials used by the member states in the production of missiles. According to this, states can not sell missiles with a warhead over 500 kilograms, over 300 kilometer long, to other states. Security analysts say Turkey would eventually aim to produce ground-to-ground missiles with a range of up to 1,000 kilometers.
In February 2017, Burak Ege Bekdil writing for Defense News, reported that Turkey’s state-controlled missile-maker Roketsan was developing a long-range ground-to-ground missile and weapons system. The Undersecretariat for Defense Industries, or SSM, said that "deliveries continue on in line with the program’s timetable." But SSM did not say if the deliveries were prototypes or the systems, dubbed "Bora." SSM did say the systems are required by the Turkish Land Forces. An SSM official said the end goal of the program is to earn capabilities to design, perform qualification and progress into serial production of the Bora system.
Turkey's first Bora long-range missile was tested in Sinop, according to a statement from the National Defense Minister Fikri Isik. Speaking to A Haber, Isik said May 11, 2017, "A new shot of Bora fuze of 280 km range was made in Sinop." He said, "We are pleased to see extremely successful shot again. Turkey came to the point of making its own missiles. We have won a great confidence to do better. It performed a successful shot into the Black Sea Sinop," he said.
The Bora missile developed by Roketsan has a diameter of 610 mm. Thanks to its high-tech navigation and automatic dispensing systems, the system successfully applies the horse and walker. The system can be designed in different versions depending on the user's logistics infrastructure and needs, such as vehicles, radio, power system, navigational system, etc. in different brands and models.
Defense Industry Fair in Abu Dhabi IDEX-2017 in the name of the Turkish Defense Industry on behalf of a great surprise. The long-range missile system produced by ROKETSAN, under the local name BORA, first appeared under the name 'Khan' ROKETSAN published a brochure on the long-range missile system in IDEX-2017. The rocket has a weight of 2500 kg and a battle head of 470 kilograms. Rocket GNSS / INS and only INS navigation will be two types of target oriented navigation. The rocket flight is controlled by aerodynamic control and electromechanical separation system. The manufacturer's experts say that Khan has features that can compete with other systems in its class. It is stated that the accuracy of the "Khan" system from the target is less than 50 meters at maximum distance.
