![]() Ikonos imagery of the Al Sulayyil weapons storage area. This facility occupying over 15 square kilometers is too large to be solely related to the CSS-2 missile base. It is probably either a regional weapons storage depot or supports the airfield 6 kilometers to the Southeast which has at least 25 hardened aircraft shelters. This airfield may be associated with Saudi Tornado fighter-bombers. |
![]() Over sixty earth-covered weapons storage igloos are visible in this December 2000 Ikonos image. Three large white storage buildings measuring 20 x 80 meters are visible. Current storage capacity estimate is between 2.1 and 2.3 million cubic feet of storage space. |
|
![]() Five different types of storage buildings are identifiable in this Ikonos image. Single, double and triple igloos are visible as well as two types of above ground storage buildings. A single unidentified structure surrounded by revetments remains a mystery. |
![]() A single weapon storage igloo located at far south end of the storage area. The drive-through entrance is about 10-meters wide. |
