Krasnoarmeyskoye
N 51°12' E 46°02'
The Krasnoarmeyskoye national-level nuclear weapons storage facility is south of Saratov and the nearby Engels Air Base. U.S. General Eugene Habiger, then Commander-in-Chief, US STRATCOM visited this site in June 1998. Corona Mission 1114-2 of 3 April 1971 shows it contained 4-5 storage bunkers as of 1971 arranged around a ravined area. The perimeter fence, living quarters, maintenance areas, and associated heli-pad are visible.
