The 712 Uranium Mine at Dapu in Hengshan County of Hunan Province is one of the eight uranium mines opened between 1962 and 1965.

State-operated 712 Uranium Mine is one of the large-size uranium mines, and it has over 3,000 employees, including 534 technical personnel. Under the Mine are 23 units, such as Hunan Magnesium Mill, Loudi Marble Mill, Construction & Decoration Company, Machinery Factory, Transportation Company, etc.

Hunan Magnesium Mill covers an area of 100,000 m2 and has 1,030 sets of equipment and 1,460 instruments. The main manufacturing workshops are equipped with technical software and key equipment introduced from Japan. 3,400 tons of magnesium ingots are produced each year, which meet national standards and are exported to Japan, Republic of Korea, European and American countries with a certificate of Hunan new products and special export exemption from examination obtained in 1993. The Mill can produce magnesium ingots and high-purity crystal magnesium of different specifications according to users' demand.

Loudi Marble Mill is equipped with 1980s advanced stone material processing facilities introduced from Italy and a production line with an annual capacity of 30 000 m2 plates. It can produce marble and granite plates and products in various specifications according to users' demand, which feature good fineness, intense stereoscopic effect and high antiflex cracking and compressive strength. And they are sold to Canada, the US, the Republic of Korea, Japan and other countries in Southeast Asia.

Machinery Factory is involved in processing and manufacturing generalª²purpose mechanical equipment.

Transportation Company can undertake largeª² and medium-sized earthwork and goods transportation.

Construction & Decoration Company undertakes construction and decoration business.
