W74
Lighter 155 mm designs were developed, including the W74 (canceled early in development), and the W-82/XM-785 shell. Efforts were made to update the warheads: the 155mm W74 and 203mm W75 were developed from about 1970, and they were intended to have a yield of 100 tons or more. These versions were canceled in 1973.
