The Security Service of Ukraine has detained another enemy agent in Kyiv region. He is a 40-year-old employee of a local chemical plant who, on the orders of russia's federal security service, adjusted russian air strikes on Ukraine.
His main task was to search for and transmit coordinates of airfields, air defense complexes, and enterprises producing unmanned systems for the Defense Forces in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, and Lviv regions.
To guide enemy strikes at the targets, the perpetrator conducted reconnaissance in these oblasts and was to mark the coordinates of military facilities and Ukrainian UAV production sites on Google Maps.
Simultaneously, the traitor collected intelligence through acquaintances, eliciting information from them under the guise of friendly conversations.
The SSU apprehended the enemy agent when he set out to carry out a new task from his handler - to record the consequences of a recent strike in Kyiv region.
The Security Service also took action to protect the locations of the Defense Forces.
During the searches, a smartphone with geolocations, photographs, and other 'reporting' materials that the asset had prepared for the occupiers was seized from him.
SSU investigators notified the individual of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Cherkasy region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Office.
