The SSU Counterintelligence has foiled another attempt by ruscists to obtain coordinates for a new missile attack on industrial infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia.

According to the investigation, the enemy was targeting production facilities and power substations that supply factories in the frontline city.

To adjust the air strike, the russian military intelligence ('the GRU') recruited a former employee of the local Pension Fund unit. She came to russia's attention because of her anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram channels.

To carry out the GRU tasks, the agent scouted the area, trying to identify industrial and energy facilities.

In addition, she secretly elicited information from an engineer-programmer she knew who worked at one of the local machine-building companies.

The investigation established that the asset coordinated her actions with a GRU serviceman via an anonymous chat in a messenger app.

The Security Service identified the agent at an early stage, documented her contacts with her handler and detained her while she was photographing the perimeter of a factory's power facility.

A smartphone with Google Maps was seized from the suspect at the scene. In the app, she had marked potential 'targets' for the occupiers.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The enemy accomplice is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Rivne region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Office.
