The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have detained six enemy agents who committed arson attacks in several regions of Ukraine. The enemy's targets were private homes of Ukrainian defenders and their families, as well as energy equipment on Ukrainian Railways.

To carry out these crimes, russian special services recruited local residents who were looking for 'easy money' on Telegram.

In Kyiv region, three local residents aged 18 to 21 were apprehended. On the FSB's orders, they were preparing to set fire to the home of a Ukrainian Armed Forces veteran in Vasylkiv.

The perpetrators made a Molotov cocktail, which they were supposed to throw through the victim's window to cause a fire. The law enforcement identified the agents at an early stage and detained them at the scene of the planned crime.

In Dnipropetrovsk region, another asset of the aggressor state was uncovered. He turned out to be a fitter from Ukrzaliznytsia branch in Kamyanske district, who was recruited by the occupiers.

The enemy accomplice first set fire to railway power equipment along local tracks. He was then given a new task: to derail a Defense Forces freight train. However, the law enforcement agencies foiled russia's plans and detained the arsonist.

In Vinnytsia region, an 18-year-old resident of Haysyn was caught after setting fire to a relay cabinet near a railway line. He used a highly flammable mixture, which he made himself following his russian handler's instructions.

In Zakarpattia, another perpetrator was detained - a 52-year-old unemployed man from Uzhhorod district. Using highly flammable mixtures, he attempted to destroy two relay cabinets of signalling devices on a railway line in the border region.

The detained individuals have been notified of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 113.2 (sabotage, committed under martial law);
  • 194.2 (intentional damage to property by arson).

The suspects are in custody and face between 10 years in prison to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operations were carried out by the SSU regional offices together with the National Police under the procedural supervision of prosecutor's offices.
