Based on SSU materials, a traitor who committed arson attacks in Chernivtsi region on the order of the FSB was sentenced to 15 years in prison. The main enemy's targets were the energy facilities of the Ukrainian railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) and vehicles of the Defence Forces.
According to the investigation, russian tasks were carried out by a 23-year-old resident of the city of Siverskodonetsk, who moved to Bukovyna after the start of the full-scale war and began looking for 'easy money' on Telegram channels.
As a result, he was 'noticed' and recruited by russian special services. Following the instructions of the occupiers, the traitor first carried out 'test' assignments, in particular, painted provocative graffiti on the walls of buildings.
Later, the agent began to carry out his main tasks. First, he set fire to a relay cabinet on the railway line, and then began to track and try to destroy a service vehicle of an AFU serviceman.
In both cases, the traitor filmed the fire with a phone camera to 'report' to the FSB, aiming to get money from the occupiers.
The SSU Counterintelligence detained the agent in hot pursuit when he tried to flee the scene after setting fire to a military vehicle.
Based on the evidence collected by SSU investigators, the court found him guilty under two articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason committed under martial law);
- 114-1.1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Chernivtsi region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Office.
