The SSU's cyber units have detained another enemy informant in Kharkiv. He turned out to be a former actor at a local theatre for children and young people. On russia's orders, the traitor adjusted russian air strikes on the city.
The aggressor's priority targets were the reserve bases of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
To collect coordinates for the attacks, the 61-year-old recorded the locations of Ukrainian defenders on his smartphone under the pretext of walking around the city and its suburbs.
During his reconnaissance sorties, he photographed and marked on Google Maps the buildings where, in his opinion, Defense Forces personnel could be located.
He sent the collected data to russian special services through a 'liaison' - his acquaintance from russia with whom he had previously studied at an acting school.
They created an anonymous chat in a popular messenger app for covert communication.
The SSU documented the informant's crimes and detained him at an early stage of his unlawful activities. Simultaneously, action was taken to protect the locations of the Defense Forces.
A phone that the perpetrator used to covertly record potential targets and coordinate his actions with the occupiers was seized during searches.
SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 114-2.1 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other lawful military formations, under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 8 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Office.
