Based on evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, another two agents of russian military intelligence ('the GRU') have been convicted to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for adjusting russian strikes on Ukraine.
One of the perpetrators is a 46-year-old handyman from Kharkiv who guided russian glide bombs on the city. To do this, he rode his bicycle in the target area and recorded the defensive lines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He passed the collected data in the form of marks on Google Maps to his acquaintance. The latter in 2014 left for the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region and began cooperating with russia's GRU.
The SSU detained the agent at the end of 2024. A phone with evidence of his work for the occupiers was seized from him during searches.
Another traitor is a 47-year-old unemployed man from Voznesensk district of Mykolaiv region, who also prepared coordinates for russian air strikes on the Armed Forces.
The enemy's priority targets included operational airfields and air defense complexes. In an attempt to identify military installations, the spotter installed a hidden video recorder in his car, which he used to drive around the region.
The asset coordinated his actions with his handler via a chatbot of the traitor Sergei Lebedev (also known as 'Lokhmatyi'), who is hiding in Donetsk and acts as a 'liaison' for the GRU.
The SSU detained the aggressor's accomplice in the spring of 2024.
Based on the SSU's investigations, the court found the accused individuals guilty of crimes under two Articles of the CCU:
111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
114-2.3 (unauthorized dissemination of information on the movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
The investigations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Offices.
