On July 2, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa took part in a meeting with donors and Ukrainian national partners of OSCE projects implemented by the Special Representative of the Chairpersonship-in-Office - OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine.
The main goal of the event was to outline the priority areas for Ukraine in the implementation of OSCE project activities and to improve cooperation between donors and national partners in this sphere.
In her speech, Mariana Betsa emphasized: "Since 2022, despite Russia's attempts to block the OSCE's activity in Ukraine, the Organisation has continued to implement projects, providing real support for Ukrainian people who has been resisting aggression of the Russian Federation."
Mariana Betsa highly evaluated the cooperation between the Special Representative of the Chairpersonship-in-Office - OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, Ambassador Peter Mareš and Ukrainian state authorities.
Among the priority areas of OSCE project activities, the Deputy Minister mentioned humanitarian demining; emergency response; environmental restoration; social support and psychological assistance to the most vulnerable groups of the population, such as children, women, veterans of war, and internally displaced persons.
The Deputy Minister urged representatives of the Ukrainian ministries and agencies to engage actively in cooperation with the OSCE, explicitly communicating the needs of their institutions to effectively coordinate efforts to overcome the consequences of Russian aggression.
Mariana Betsa also participated in a working meeting on the return and reintegration of Ukrainian children who were forcibly displaced and deported by Russia, as well as on ensuring a comprehensive approach to the protection and support of children's rights in Ukraine.
These events were held as part of a two-day solidarity visit to Ukraine by a delegation of Permanent Representatives of OSCE Participating States and the OSCE Secretariat under the auspices of the Finnish OSCE Chairpersonship.
