In Cherkasy, the SSU Counterintelligence has detained another agent of russia's federal security service. He turned out to be a 20-year-old student at a local university who had been recruited by the enemy. On occupiers' orders, he adjusted russian missile and drone attacks on the region.

The individual previously lived in Luhansk but moved to Cherkasy and enrolled in university before the start of the full-scale war.

The student came to the attention of russian special services while looking for 'easy money' on Telegram.

After remote recruitment, the agent began providing the enemy with information on consequences of russian attacks: he looked for the impact sites and made reports with photos for his handler.

His next task was to find combat positions of the Defense Forces' radar stations.

The invaders planned to use this intelligence to prepare their air strikes evading Ukrainian air defense systems.

The traitor also spied on the administrative building of the regional National Police office, trying to determine the level of protection of its outer perimeter.

The SSU identified the enemy agent at an early stage of his reconnaissance activities. A phone with a prepared 'report' for the FSB was seized during the search of his home.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Cherkasy region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Office.
