The Security Service of Ukraine and National Police have collected evidence against three russian war criminals involved in killing of civilians during the temporary occupation of part of Kyiv region.

One of them is 35-year-old captain Timur Tamasov, commander of one of the units of the russian, Pskov-based 76th airborne assault division.

According to the investigation, on 27 February 2022 his unit took up combat positions near the village of Zdzhivivka, Bucha district.

Tamazov then gathered his subordinates and ordered them to shoot to kill local residents who were trying to leave for Ukraine-controlled territory.

It has been documented that on that day four employees of a construction company in Kyiv region attempted to evacuate the combat zone in their own minibus.

Tamazov's subordinates shot the construction workers' car at close range as it was heading towards Borodianka.

According to the expert examination, the invaders fired 20 shots from Kalashnikov assault rifles at the civilians. As a result of the gunshot wounds, two men died on the spot and two others were seriously injured.

Another suspect is 23-year-old Vladimir Osipov, a serviceman of the 64th separate motorized rifle brigade of russia's 35th army, who on 28 March 2022 shot and killed two civilians in Hostomel with an automatic rifle.

One more perpetrator is 48-year-old Alexei Abramov, commander of a company of the 64th separate motorized rifle brigade of the russian occupation forces. During the capture of the village of Ivankiv, he ordered his subordinates to torture peaceful population and compile 'execution lists' of members of the resistance movement.

Based on the evidence, investigators have notified all three russian citizens in absentia of suspicion under Article 438.1, 438.2 of the CCU (war crimes resulting in the death of people, committed by a group of persons, upon prior conspiracy).

Efforts are underway to bring to justice all occupiers involved in torture and murder of civilians in Ukraine.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region and by the National Police under the procedural supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor's Office.
