The Security Service of Ukraine has detained an agent adjusting russian strikes on Lviv region. He is a 57-year-old local unemployed man, recruited by russia's federal security service via Telegram.
His main task was to look for military airbases in the western region.
To establish the coordinates of the airfields, the traitor drove around the area in his car and tried to find airfields that he thought could be used by the army aviation.
During his reconnaissance missions, the agent took georeferenced photographs of the installations and marked the geolocations on Google Maps.
Upon returning home, he summarized the collected data and prepared a report for his FSB handler.
The individual used an anonymous chat in a messenger app to communicate with the occupiers and carefully deleted the texts after each session.
Despite these secrecy measures, SSU cyber units identified the perpetrator, documented his crimes and detained him.
Action was taken to protect the locations of the Defense Forces.
A phone with evidence of the suspect's work for the FSB was found during searches.
SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office.
