Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation

Statement by Russian Defence Ministry

09.04.2025 (13:05)

In violation of the Russian-American agreements to cease strikes at energy facilities for 30 days from 18 March 2025, the Kiev regime continues its daily unilateral attacks against the Russian energy infrastructure.

In the past 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have attacked Russian power facilities four times.

In Kursk region:

  • On 8 April, at 08:18, a deliberate fire attack of the AFU damaged overhead wires and disabled a high-voltage line of the Kurskenergo (Rosseti Centre's branch). Household consumers were cut off electricity in Bolshoye Soldatskoye, Bolshesoldatsky District.
  • On 8 April, at 13:20, a deliberate fire attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine caused an overhead wire breakage and thus disabled a high-voltage line of the Kurskenergo (Rosseti Centre's branch). Household consumers were cut off electricity in Kamyshnoye and Krupets, Belovsky District.

In Zaporozhye region:

  • On 8 April, at 22:39, a Ukrainian attack UAV targeting the Botiyevsk wind power plant hit a wind power system. The station reduced the working capacity by 3.25MW.

In Rostov region:

  • On 9 April, at 03:50, a high-voltage line of the Rosseti South's branch - Rostovenergo was disabled due to damage caused by a Ukrainian UAV. About 400 household consumers were left without power in Kamensky District.

From 23:38 of 8 April to 1:26 of 9 April, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an attack using 8 UAVs against the Korenovskaya compressor station in Korenovsky District, Krasnodar region.

This compressor station provides power supply of the TurkStream export gas pipeline. The Korenovskaya station has a pumping capacity of 31.5 billion cubic metres of gas a year.

All AFU attack UAVs were shot down by air defence systems and fire groups. The station was not damaged.

This was the Kiev regime's deliberate attack on the international energy facility.

In addition, at 2:30 of 9 April, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an attack using two UAVs on the Temryuk gas distribution station, which provides gas supply to city and the port of Temryuk. Both UAVs were shot down at a safe distance from the station.

Thus, in violation of the Russian-American agreements to cease strikes at energy facilities for 30 days from 18 March 2025, the Kiev regime has practically never stopped attacks on the Russian power infrastructure even for a day.
