Question: How would you comment on the talks between the leaders of Russia and China regarding the Ukraine crisis?
Sergey Lavrov: President of Russia Vladimir Putin has reaffirmed that we do appreciate the desire of China, Brazil and other strategic partners among the Global South countries to seek peaceful ways of settling the conflict in Ukraine.
We have cited well-known facts, including the refusal of Vladimir Zelensky to negotiate. That's all there is to it.
We are ready for talks, as President Putin has reaffirmed. This has been the case more than once. Every time discussions seem to have got off the ground and lead to some kind of result, the Kiev regime, as they say, backed away from the agreements. That's all there is to it.
