
Russian Defence Ministry reports on repelling AFU attempt to invade Russian territory in Kursk region (10 October 2024)

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the operation to neutralise an enemy group, which broke into the territory of Kursk region.
Units of the Sever Group of Forces continued offensive actions and engaged formations of AFU 22nd, 41st, 47th, and 115th mechanised brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 82nd and 95th air assault brigades, 1st National Guard Brigade, as well as 103rd and 129th territorial defence brigades close to Daryino, Lyubimovka, Novy Put, and Plekhovo.
Over the past 24 hours, the Group's units repelled two enemy attacks in the direction of Lyubimovka and Kamyshevka. As a result, up to 30 troops were killed and wounded; one tank and one motor vehicle were neutralised. Five AFU servicemen surrendered.
Army aviation and artillery inflicted losses on clusters of manpower and hardware of AFU 21st, 22nd, 47th, and 61st mechanised brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 80th, 82nd, and 95th air assault brigades, 1st and 17th national guards brigades, as well as 103rd, 112th, and 129th territorial defence brigades near Daryino, Kolmakov, Leonidovo, Lyubimovka, Martynovka, Makhnovka, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novy Put, Nizhny Klin, Novoivanovka, Orlovka, Plekhovo, Pravda, Sverdlikovo, Tolsty Lug, and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye.
Operational-Tactical Aviation and Missile Troops launched strikes in Sumy region on concentration areas and reserves of AFU 21st, 47th, and 115th mechanised brigades, 95th Air Assault Brigade, 36th Marine Brigade, 78th Air Assault Regiment, as well as 103rd, 112th, and 119th territorial defence brigades close to Katerinovka, Mirlogi, Miropolye, Obody, Pavlovka, Rechki, Stepanovka, and Yastrebinoye.
Over the past 24 hours, more than 200 AFU troops, three tanks, one armoured fighting vehicle, one mortar, one electronic warfare station, and one motor vehicle were eliminated. Five AFU servicemen surrendered.
Since the beginning of hostilities in Kursk region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost more than 21,550 troops, 139 tanks, 66 infantry fighting vehicles, 98 armoured personnel carriers, 892 armoured fighting vehicles, 590 motor vehicles, 177 artillery guns, 33 MLRS launchers, including eight of HIMARS and six of MLRS made by the USA, nine SAM launchers, five transport-loading vehicles, 46 electronic warfare stations and nine counter-battery radars, three air defence radars, 22 engineering and other vehicles, including 13 counterobstacle vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle, and three armoured recovery vehicles.
The operation to neutralise the AFU units is in progress.
