- Russia reports destroying 13 Ukrainian drones VOA 16 Jul 2024 -- Russia's military said Tuesday its air defenses destroyed 13 Ukrainian aerial drones, while officials in Ukrainian regions along the border with Russia reported damage from Russian shelling.
- Russian Strikes, Heat Wave Force More Power Restrictions On Ukrainians RFE/RL 16 Jul 2024 -- Ukraine's national electricity distributor Ukrenerho announced on July 16 that emergency shutdowns will continue in several regions amid difficulties caused by ongoing Russian attacks on power infrastructure and a spell of hot weather that has pushed consumption to record levels.

- Ukraine: Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 EC/CEU 16 Jul 2024 -- On 17 July, we honour the memory of the 298 innocent people, including 80 children, of 17 nationalities who lost their lives in the downing of 'Malaysia Airlines' Flight MH17 ten years ago. The ten-year commemoration brings back very painful memories. We renew our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the victims.
- The Foreign Minister: Ukraine is Latvia's priority in development cooperation Latvia MFA 16 Jul 2024 -- In a meeting with participants of a development cooperation project, "Friendship Bridge Riga-Nizhyn", the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, underlined that Ukraine is Latvia's priority in development cooperation: more than a half of projects approved in 2024 are related to Ukraine. A special focus is placed on the Chernihiv Region.
- Latvia to make a contribution in support of Ukrainian medical institutions Latvia MFA 16 Jul 2024 -- On 16 July 2024, the Government approved a draft legislative act advanced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "On the allocation of financial resources from the State Budget Programme 'Contingency Fund'", which aims to ensure EUR 100 000 in funding towards Latvia's support for the functioning of Ukrainian medical institutions in the war conditions.

- Ukrainian Court Grants Bail To Senior Military Officer Who Reportedly 'Coordinated' Nord Stream Sabotage RFE/RL 16 Jul 2024 -- The Ukrainian law firm Katerynchuk, Moor & Partners said on July 15 that a court of appeals in the Kirovohrad region had granted bail of 9 million hryvnyas ($218,000) to Special Forces Colonel Roman Chervinskiy, who was described by The Washington Post in November as a "coordinator" in the 2022 attack on the Nord Stream natural-gas pipelines.
- Interview: More Patriots and F-16s for Ukraine, but no deep strikes in Russia VOA 16 Jul 2024 -- In May, the United States gave Ukraine permission to strike Russian targets just across the border using American-provided weapons. This decision enabled Ukrainians to better defend against Russian attacks in Kharkiv and other Ukrainian regions. However, the permission did not extend to the deployment of long-range weapons like ATACMS missiles, which the U.S. has also been providing to Ukraine.
