  • Update 214 - IAEA Director General Statement on Situation in Ukraine IAEA 01 Mar 2024 -- Ukraine's Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) has been without back-up power for the past ten days, leaving the facility entirely dependent on its only remaining 750 kilovolt (kV) line for the external electricity it needs to cool its six reactors and for other essential nuclear safety and security functions, Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said today.

  • The Netherlands to donate watercraft to Ukraine Netherlands Ministry of Defence 01 Mar 2024 -- The Netherlands is to provide fast and highly manoeuvrable rubber and patrol boats as well as assault craft to Ukraine. The Netherlands also contributing € 250 million to the Czech initiative to order large numbers of artillery shells for Ukraine in the short term. This was reported by the government in a letter to the House of Representatives.
  • Netherlands Pledges $2.2 Billion in Military Aid for Ukraine VOA 01 Mar 2024 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced Friday he and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte signed a security agreement that will provide Kyiv with $2.2 billion in military aid this year.
  • Balkan Leaders Pledged To Supply Ukraine With Ammunition, Zelenskiy Says RFE/RL 01 Mar 2024 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on February 29 that his meetings with Western Balkan leaders at a summit in Tirana will help Ukrainian troops get more of the artillery shells they badly need to fend off advancing Russian forces.
  • France Will Not Send Troops to Ukraine - Foreign Minister Sputnik 01 Mar 2024 -- French President Emmanuel Macron earlier proclaimed that he refused to rule out sending EU troops to Ukraine - a move that met harsh backlash from some European politicians.
  • Ukraine: Switzerland implements the EU's 13th package of sanctions Federal Council - Swiss Government 01 Mar 2024 -- The Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER), which is responsible for sanctions, decided on 29 February to impose further sanctions against Russia. Switzerland is thus joining the 13th sanctions package of the European Union (EU), adopted in response to Russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine over the past two years. The measures will enter into force at 6pm on 1 March.
  • 'No One in Europe' Planning to Send Troops to Ukraine - Czech Prime Minister Sputnik 01 Mar 2024 -- Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on Thursday stated that none of the European countries are currently considering deploying their troops to Ukraine.
