Address by President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda to the people of Lithuania on the occasion of the second anniversary of Russia's war against Ukraine
Ladies and gentlemen,
Today marks the second anniversary of a brutal war.
When Russia fiercely attacked Ukraine, Europe witnessed a massacre of a scale not seen in a long time.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed, and countless residential buildings, industrial and infrastructural facilities destroyed.
We know very well who is responsible for this.
We know that the raging evil can only be defeated with great determination and even greater efforts.
The hatred fueled by Russia threatens the world order. It threatens every one of us. That is why we must continue to support Ukraine.
Every piece of armaments we hand over, every humanitarian aid shipment, every euro we donate saves lives and brings Ukraine closer to victory. Our common victory. The victory of our Freedom.
It is equally important to fortify our resilience, our ability to fight back against Evil. We do this together with our trusted allies.
We have had enough painful lessons from history. It is now time to show what we have learned!
Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania
