"We want to permanently elevate Türkiye to the league of high-income countries"

Holding a press conference following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan said: "We will inshallah become a $1.9-trillion economy by the end of 2028. Our national income per capita will reach $21 thousand for the first time. We want to permanently elevate Türkiye to the league of high-income countries. We are determined to bring inflation down to single digits. We will create employment for 2.5 million more people during the programme period. We hope to reduce unemployment below 8 percent. The permanent recovery in our current account deficit will continue. Our goods exports will surpass $300 billion for the first time."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.

"STEEL DOME WILL ELEVATE TÜRKİYE TO A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TIER IN AIR DEFENSE"

Recalling the Victory Week observed on August 25-30, President Erdoğan said: "With the ceremonies in Ahlat and Malazgirt, we once again announced to the whole world our eternal brotherhood. We had two important events on August 27. First, we visited the Gölbaşı campus of ASELSAN, a leading Turkish defense industry company that celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. There, we took three steps at once that makes our defense industry proud. We added to our heroic armed forces' inventory the Steel Dome systems comprised of 47 vehicles with a combined value of $460 million. We officially inaugurated 14 critical facilities of ASELSAN worth $280 million. We broke ground for Oğulbey Technology Base, which spans over an area larger than 900 football fields and has an investment value of $1.5 billion. Once this strategic project is completed, it will inshallah become one of the most advanced technology bases in the region. The Steel Dome, the system of systems, will elevate Türkiye to a completely different tier in air defense."

"WE WILL BECOME THE VOICE OF THE PALESTINIAN INNOCENTS AT UNGA"

Touching upon his recent visit to China, President Erdoğan stated: "On September, we attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit as a guest of honor of President of China Mr. Xi Jinping. With its 3.8 billion population and $30 trillion economic growth, the SCO plays a critical role in the global arena. As Türkiye, we seek to further our relations with the SCO and its member states on a win-win basis. On the sidelines of the summit, we came together with many leaders including President of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping and President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Putin. The genocide in Gaza was our top agenda item both during my address to the summit and my bilateral talks. We stand by the innocent Gazans with all our means during these difficult times when the Netanyahu government has lost its senses all the more. We preserve our firm stance despite all the oppressions, threats, arrogance and recklessness of this gang of murder that has massacred over 64 thousand innocents. Carrying our conscientious approach into the upcoming United Nations General Assembly, we will become the voice of the Palestinian innocents."

Drawing attention to the positive outlook in economy, President Erdoğan said: "We have largely accomplished the targets designated in the medium term programme. And today, we have shared with our nation the new medium term programme that will shape our country's next three years. Preparations of the programme have been conducted with a comprehensive approach. A strong and decisive roadmap, which takes into consideration the opinions of the business community and real sector representatives, has emerged as a product of collective wisdom," President Erdoğan said.

Stressing that this programme does not consist of mere figures but rather lays out a vision to permanently raise the people's welfare, President Erdoğan went on: "Thanks to the programme, we will not only grow in the next three years but will also outperform the growth of the global economy and our trade partners. As you will remember, we joined the league of $1-trillion economies in 2023 for the first time. We have now put the bar higher. We will inshallah become a $1.9-trillion economy by the end of 2028.
