Speaking at a commemoration for Mehmet Akif Ersoy in Ankara, President Erdoğan said: "As long as the attacks on our independence continue, we will continue to defend our future. Although we pay prices in material and spiritual terms, we will by no means relinquish our will to live freely in our own homeland."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at a commemoration for Mehmet Akif Ersoy in Ankara.
Drawing attention to Türkiye's ongoing fight against terror, President Erdoğan stressed: "As long as the attacks on our independence continue, we will continue to defend our future. Although we pay prices in material and spiritual terms, we will by no means relinquish our will to live freely in our own homeland."
Pointing to the challenges against this will of theirs both at home and abroad, President Erdoğan noted that attempts aimed at testing the Turkish nation's love for independence lie behind the treacherous attacks on the Turkish soldiers in the north of Iraq, and added: "If you pay attention, you will see that after such attacks that tear out the hearts of all of us, various provocations that target our unity and solidarity take place. We see these fifth column activities, which set different segments of the society against each other, as the continuation of terrorist attacks."
President Erdoğan underscored that a clearer stance must be displayed against these social terror acts, which seek to weaken the Turkish nation from inside.
