Damascus, Shawwal 15, 1438, July 09, 2017, SPA -- A partial ceasefire brokered by the United States and Russia took effect in south-western Syria on Sunday, a monitoring group reported, according to dpa.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said no violations have been recorded since the start of the truce at noon (0900 GMT).
The deal covers the provinces of Daraa, Sweida and Quneitra in south-western Syria, which has been the scene of fighting between government forces and rebels in recent weeks.
Part of the region borders Jordan, which has also agreed to the ceasefire.
